Voluma Dermal Filler

Most people are more concerned about their appearance than anything else in the world. Even with old age, most people want to have a beautiful skin and a great facial form. Technological and medical cosmetic advancement has made this objective achievable. People looking forward to having great a facial appearance can visit cosmetic doctors to have their faces improved. Usually, doctors add Voluma dermal filler to the face to bring out a well and rounded face. This filler is usually applied to the cheek bone and chin parts where one may have developed sunken areas in their skin, especially older people.

Types of Voluma Dermal Filler

There are two main types of ingredients in Voluma dermal fillers that are commonly used, which are Restylane and Radiesse. The former is a non-animal product and the second is obtained from animals. Both products are easily degradable. Effectiveness of the Voluma dermal fillers varies from one individual to another. Some people may have an allergy to one of the products and in this case the other Voluma dermal filler will be used in its place. At the same time, not all people can have the treatment. Breastfeeding and pregnant women should not have the treatment. People who have recently had laser treatment are also excluded from the Voluma dermal filler treatment.

These factors necessitate the need to consult with your cosmetics doctor who should advise you accordingly. A good cosmetics doctor should ask you several questions prior to any preparations for Voluma dermal filler treatment. Mostly, the doctor will want to know whether you are pregnant, breastfeeding or whether you have had laser treatment in the recent past. The doctor should also inform you all about the Voluma dermal filler treatment, including the fact that the procedure is irreversible. If you want to proceed with the treatment and you have met the conditions above, the doctor should carry out allergy tests. After this, the doctor will determine the precise areas to have filler applied and the amount of the filler to be injected. While Radiesse is injected deep into the dermis, Restylane is injected in the upper part of the dermis.

The Voluma Dermal Filler Procedure

Voluma dermal filler is applied using small needles, such as the 23 gauge and 18 gauge needles. Treatment time is dictated by the Voluma dermal filler being used. Treatment using Radiesse will take longer than with Restylane because Radiesse requires deep penetration and may require the use of anaesthesia. Treatment with the Restylane takes between 15 and 30 minutes while treatment with the Radiesse takes between 30 and 45 minutes. After the procedure, there is an immediate change in your face which begins to take effect as soon as the treatment is complete. Your face will become soft, smooth and even without wrinkles, scars or frown lines. The effects vary in the time they last. Cosmetics doctors noticed that treatment for wrinkles and scars lasts for between 6 and 12 months whilst treatment for enhancing lip shape and increasing facial volume lasts for between 6 and 9 months.

Voluma Dermal Filler Aftercare

Cosmetic doctors should advise you on how to care for yourself for the treatment to have longer lasting effects. Treated areas should not be massaged soon after and should not be exposed to extremely hot or extremely cold temperatures. These conditions may compromise the effectiveness of the Voluma dermal filler treatment lasting for a shorter time contrary to expectations. While most Voluma dermal treatments are done using temporary fillers, it is important to note that there are permanent fillers as well. Permanent dermal fillers are not widely used because they may present numerous challenges and you could develop undesirable effects. People who have permanent Voluma dermal fillers may find some of their facial parts raised leading to in-proportional and asymmetrical faces instead.
